A Cog Among The Weeds

Materials and Technique: The border is constructed of several pieces of translucent, textured green and turquoise blue stained glass. These pieces are assembled using the copper foil method and framed with a black metal patina. The central design uses vitreous paint, which is fused permanently to the glass through kiln firing.

Aesthetic: The piece has an organic, whimsical, and folk-art inspired aesthetic, designed to be hung in a window to catch the light and cast colored shadows.
